Scope of This Policy

This policy covers information collected through our website, by telephone, by email, and through our SMS program. It does not alter the confidentiality obligations we owe to clients under California law and the California Rules of Professional Conduct, which apply independently of this policy and are broader than it.

By using our website or by enrolling in our SMS program, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the website or enroll in our messaging program.

Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

• Contact details — your name, email address, mailing address, and telephone or mobile number.
• Inquiry details — the description of your situation that you submit through our consultation request form, or provide by phone or email.
• Employment information — details about your employer, job, and the workplace events relevant to a potential or active matter.
• SMS consent records — your mobile number together with the date, time, and method by which you gave consent to receive text messages, and the specific program you enrolled in.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent on the site.
• Cookies and similar technologies — as described in Section 07.

We do not ask for and do not want you to submit sensitive identifiers such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or medical records through our website form or by text message. Please provide that kind of information only through a secure channel arranged with our office.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to consultation requests and evaluate whether the firm can assist with your matter;
• Schedule, confirm, and remind you of consultations and appointments;
• Communicate with you about an active matter, including by text message where you have consented as described in Section 04;
• Deliver the text messages you have consented to receive and honor your opt-out requests;
• Maintain the firm's case, billing, and records systems;
• Operate, secure, and improve our website; and
• Comply with applicable law, professional obligations, and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.

SMS & Text Message Communications

Pairavi Law, P.C. operates one text message program. Participation is voluntary, and we obtain your express consent before any message is sent to you.

Consent to receive text messages from Pairavi Law, P.C. is not a condition of legal representation, of a consultation, or of any service or purchase. You may decline text messages and continue to work with the firm by phone, email, or mail. You must be at least 18 years old and the authorized user of the mobile number you give us.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages through this program.

Carriers and delivery

We deliver text messages through a licensed messaging provider and your mobile carrier. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on factors outside our control, including network availability and your device settings.

Do not use text message to send us time-sensitive, confidential, or emergency information. Text messaging is not a secure channel and is not monitored continuously. If your matter is urgent, call our office at (310) 789-2063.

Mobile Opt-In Data

The only processing of your mobile number that occurs outside the firm is the technical transmission of the messages you asked to receive: our messaging provider and your mobile carrier must handle the number in order to route the message to your handset. These parties act solely as conduits for delivering messages you consented to receive, are contractually restricted to that purpose, and are prohibited from using, disclosing, or retaining your number or consent record for any other purpose, including their own marketing.

How We Disclose Other Information

Subject in all cases to the absolute restriction on mobile opt-in data set out in Section 05, we may disclose other personal information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers. Vendors that support our operations — website hosting, email, document management, case management, and billing — may process information solely to perform services for us and only under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Legal compliance. We may disclose information in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful request by public authorities, or where required by law or the Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Protection of rights and safety. We may disclose information where necessary to investigate or prevent suspected fraud, a violation of our terms, or a threat to the safety of any person.
• With your direction. We disclose information to opposing counsel, courts, mediators, experts, or others where doing so is part of pursuing your matter, consistent with our professional duties to you.
• Business transfer. If the firm merges, reorganizes, or transfers its practice, client information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections and to applicable professional rules.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functioning correctly and to understand how visitors use it in aggregate. Cookies are small files placed on your device by your browser.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some website features. Most browsers also support a “Do Not Track” signal; because there is no common industry standard for interpreting it, our site does not currently respond to those signals.

Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information in our custody against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email and text message in particular are not secure channels.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and afterward for the periods required by our professional record-retention obligations, applicable statutes of limitation, and legitimate business needs.

Records of SMS consent and opt-out are retained for as long as required to demonstrate compliance with applicable telecommunications regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Retaining a record that you opted out is what allows us to make sure no further messages are sent to your number.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may give you the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, and the categories of sources and recipients;
• Request a copy of that information;
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• Request deletion of personal information, subject to exceptions including our legal and professional record-retention obligations;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — noting that we do not sell or share personal information, and that mobile opt-in data is never shared under any circumstance; and
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise a right, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will verify your identity before responding. Information subject to the attorney-client privilege or to our professional duty of confidentiality is exempt from disclosure and deletion requests.

Children's Privacy

Our website and SMS program are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not enroll anyone under 18 in our text message program. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our website may link to sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies before providing them with information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting our SMS program will be communicated to enrolled participants. Continued use of our website or of a messaging program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
